Unbreakable Father’s Day (June 17) 5k Raises Awareness of Teen Suicide

This year, the run has been renamed the Unbreakable Father’s Day 5k to highlight how physical activity can help youth who are suffering from depression and mental illness. The fun run is in Port Credit (Lakeshore E. and Front St.) and starts at 9 a.m. Participants can register on run day starting at 7:30 a.m. or (preferred) on-line before the run at www.cameronhelps.ca website.

New this year is a pancake breakfast at the Legion on 35 Front St. after the event is over. All runners or walkers who register will receive a quality “technical” running T shirt, finisher medal and the breakfast for the price of $35. Families of four can register for $25 each. Spectators or other family members can also buy a ticket for the breakfast for only $10.

The flat and picturesque route is along the water and winds through several beautiful streets lining the lakefront. Afterwards, families can enjoy amusements at the MississaugaWaterfront Festival (www.themwf.com) which is across the street from the finish line. For more details johnk@cameronhelps.ca
